Providence Staffing is Hiring an IT Help Desk Technician Near Omaha, NE

Providence Staffing’s IT client is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful IT Help Desk Technician to support the technology infrastructure at the Rogue Blue Software Development Factory located on Offutt AFB. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and efficiently managing both software and hardware systems. The ideal candidate will have a knack for problem-solving and a commitment to quick and effective resolution of technical issues, ensuring that our operations run smoothly without interruption. Must have an active Top Secret Clearance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • System Installation and Configuration:

    - Install, configure and upgrade software and hardware systems

    - Manage network servers and technological tools to ensure optimal performance

  • Account and Workstation Management:

    - Set up user accounts and workstations

    - Monitor system performance and ensure compliance with specified requirements

  • Troubleshooting and Maintenance:

    - Identify, diagnose, and resolve software and hardware failures

    - Respond to network issues and system outages, restoring functionality and minimizing downtime

  • Security and Safety:

    - Implement and maintain security measures, such as access controls, backups, and firewalls

    - Upgrade systems with the latest releases and models to bolster network security

  • Training and Development:

- Develop and refine technical expertise within the team

- Train staff on new technologies and systems to enhance capabilities and service delivery

Qualifications:

- Proven experience as an IT Help Desk Technician or similar role (1 years preferred)

- Strong knowledge of system security practices, including intrusion detection systems and data backup/recovery

- Proficient with various operating systems and platforms (Windows, macOS, Linux)

- Adept in resourcefulness and problem-solving

- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

- Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (preferred)

- CompTIA Security certification (preferred)

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 per year based on experience and qualifications.
